Mirjam de Blécourt joined Baker & McKenzie Amsterdam in 1990 and was made partner in 2000. She has been a member of the Board of Baker & McKenzie Amsterdam since July 2003. She is a member of the Management Team of the Employment Group and leads a team of 7 lawyers.
Mirjam de Blécourt specializes in collective employment law. She is involved in major collective dismissals, the preparation of requests for Works Councils and the harmonization and integration of packages of employment conditions in connection with mergers and takeovers. She advises in complex issues in the field of outsourcing, collective bargaining agreements and stock option schemes. She further specializes in issues regarding (European) Works Councils. In Pan-European reorganizations she works closely with Baker & McKenzie’s European Employment Group.
Mirjam de Blécourt publishes on a regular basis in Het Financieele Dagblad, NRC, Maandblad ArbeidsRecht and Bedrijfsjuridische Berichten. She writes a column for Elsevier magazine and published an article on reorganizations in Dutch entitled ‘Bewandel de juiste wegen bij personeelsinkrimping’ (“Make the right choices when you reduce your workforce”) in the Gids voor Personeelsmanagement. She was interviewed by the magazine Management Team about deviating from the Last-In First-Out principle and wrote a chapter for the book ‘De Europese naamloze vennootschap’, and also for ‘Bedrijfsopvolging Fiscale en Juridische aspecten’. Mirjam de Blécourt regularly speaks at workshops and seminars about outsourcing, collective dismissals, harmonization of employment conditions and (European) works councils.
