Ladies and gentleman we now proudly present to you the sweetest new sensation of oriental dance and cabaret MISS ROSINA BEEBY also known as Rosie. If you don’t already know her, she is here now to share her adventures and inspirations with you.
The story begins with her beloved father who was a clown and traveled the world in his yellow van. On school holidays Rosie joined the clownery and would assist him in the hilarious shows. In a little polka dot dress, she delighted the audience. Her fascination for clowns stays with her and she still hopes one day she can follow in her father’s footsteps.
As she grew older, Rosie’s imagination expanded even further! Together with her mother they climbed the Eiffel tour hand in hand. Because they were both terrified of heights her mother told Rosie about the dwarfs and the Siamese twins and other weird looking creatures that came at night to clean the hundreds of stairs that lead to the top. She traveled to the Middle East at the age of 18 in search of “the tales of 1001 nights” that her grandmother Sophia had read to her. On this adventure she landed in Egypt and found her greatest love, oriental dance, better known as belly dance! With the guidance of her new friend and teacher, Lou Lou, she began her life long study of this magical dance.
All these people, places and adventures have become the energy, inspiration and life force behind Rosie and continue to inspire her to make a repertoire of hilarious and often breath taking performances. Although she uses belly dance techniques in her Burlesque shows, (facial expression, teasing, hip work, veils, steps and outrages shimmies), she does keep her belly dance and burlesque shows separate. As “Rosina”, her classic belly dance routines are performed with great detail and precision. Taught to her by many Arab teachers, some of which are world famous like Hassan Khallil, Aladdin el Kohly and Shazarad. With her sensuous spirit, a flexible body, and great belly dancing skills she brings you 1001 nights of pleasure… From a classical belly dance with live musicians, to a beautifully innocent drunk French girl stripping with a bunch of baguettes underneath her arm, Miss Beeby keeps you wanting more. From a Matahari temple dance with roses and veils, to delightful cake ballet inspired by Charly Chaplin she keeps your heart racing!! The veiled women with a moustache, Siamese Twins, a balloon striptease named the Beeby Bang Balloon Show & the Exotic Mummy, her burlesque shows are mostly short cabaret stories with fun costumes. They are creative, surprising and an absolute pleasure for the eye.
