Sonia Sotomayor (born June 25, 1954) is a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Sotomayor has been reported to be the nominee U.S. President Barack Obama will announce to replace retiring Justice David Souter on the U.S. Supreme Court. On May 26, 2009, several major news outlets reported that President Barack Obama will nominate Judge Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, replacing retiring Justice David Souter.
